S H O P I N T E R I O R - clothing section of a secondhand shop. Main aim was to design an interior that would be open and inviting, presenting the clothes in the best way possible. Keeping in mind the atmosphere of a secondhand shop, there still is a certain 'raw' feel to it, in line with the rest of the shop. For secondhand shopping is all about treasure hunting we decided to create racks having corners and 'boxes' where gems could be put or displayed. In the changing rooms there is a dedicated space to temporarily place your belongings while trying on a lucky find. The main materials used are steel piping combined with modular connectors. Furthermore a newly developed material made of compressed (re-used) textile fibres is applied. This durable material has a tough yet soft surface. Sheets made of this material were attached to the metal frames with some 1200 tie rips. Official opening: 30 January 2010. Dimensions : 80 square meters Location: Kringloop Midden Holland, Utrechthaven 5, Nieuwegein Commissioned by: KICI Kledinginzameling, The Hague. Kringloop Midden Holland, Nieuwegein.
