J E R O E N T I M M E R studied design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. He graduated in 2009. Three years earlier he created the opportunity to go on an exchange to Kyoto, Japan where he lived and studied for half a year.

In his work he researches how a more responsible life style can be achieved through products, new concepts and models. By applying once used materials it is a challenge to find a function that leads to economical revaluation of them.Touched by various facets of Japanese culture and philosohies during his stay in Japan, he still applies those in his current design work. Over the years also photography proved to be a medium of interest.

Furthermore Jeroen has a degree in business information technology. Focussing on understanding business processes and designing information systems. After three years at Sony Benelux he travelled New Zealand, Indonesia, Australia and South-East Asia in 2001.

U I T M I J N H O O F D means "knowing by heart". In Dutch this phrase has several meanings like doing something effortlessly, transforming ideas into actions or undertaking with an accepted risk on minor errors.
